Scholarship and Training Fund

The Scholarship and Training Fund (STF) is an initiative supporting the educational cooperation between Poland and three donor countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Broadening knowledge, development of methods based upon best practices and transfer of innovative solutions in the field of education and training, promoting the mobility of students and academics, furthering cooperation and partnerships between institutions active in the field of education in Poland and on the territories of the donor countries are the STF’s main objectives.
How it all begun

In October 2008 in Gdańsk, representatives of various education institutions and research centres took part in the first Contact Making Seminar organized by the STF - “Building Bridges – Making Partnerships between Iceland, Norway and Poland”. As a result of the seminar, the International Office at Wrocław University of Technology (WUT) initiated cooperation with Reykjavik University in Iceland and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

STF at Wroclaw University of Technology was run in 2009/10 and 2010/11. We hope to take part in the programme in the next selection.

The exchange functioned on the rules and conditions worked out under LLP-Erasmus and included:
  • study periods and practical placements of 3 to 12 months,
  • teaching assignments, participation in seminars, trainings, workshops, conferences, work shadowing from 1 day to 6 weeks.
For incoming students and staff, we offered grants supporting subsistence and travel and insurance costs.

The list of our EFTA partners is growing: Reykjavik University in Iceland and in Norway: Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), University of Tromsø and Gjøvik University College.
